Dr. Johanna Strong is a native of Virginia Beach, VA and has served educationally for 24 years.  With a BS in Biology Education from Norfolk State University, she has taught nearly all sciences in grades 6-12.

In addition to having a passion for education, she also has a passion for medicine as she is a certified surgical assistant having performed many surgeries ranging from joint replacements to C-sections.

Dr. Strong has previously served as a science magnet school instructor, department chair, instructional facilitator, and district academic coach which has prepared her for the role of principal at UAFA Middle School.

As a singer, Dr. Strong understands the importance of incorporating the arts into the core classes so that students are able to use their gifts to support their academic achievement.  She is excited and humbled to lead our students, staff, and community to new heights of excellence!
