Admissions Policy
Returning students and new applicants will be enrolled subject to the following priorities:
- Students who attended Utopian Academy for the Arts during the previous school year.
- Siblings of students who attended Utopian Academy for the Arts during the previous school year.
- Students whose parent or guardian is a member of the governing board, or is a full-time teacher, professional, or other employee
- Students residing within Clayton County, GA
UAFA is a public charter school network open to any student in grades K-4 and 6-11 who resides in Clayton County, Georgia. Admission is granted on a first come, first serve basis. When demand for enrollment exceeds available capacity for prospective students, UAFA will create a waitlist by grade. Those students would then be entered into a lottery, which will be held according to the school’s charter. A lottery helps UAFA to keep class sizes small so that scholars can receive individual attention. Most grades have a waitlist. The length of the list varies depending on the grade. UAFA does not maintain a waitlist from previous school years. Parents must re-enroll their scholar for the next school year in the spring of their current year of attendance.
